Friday's highlights

Winning pitcher Nicole D’Amato had a run-scoring triple in the third inning to lift the host Cheshire softball team to a 1-0 Southern Connecticut Conference interdivision victory over Hand Friday at Cheshire.

Bunnell 4, Barlow 1: Ashley Pastor had two hits, including a triple, a run and an RBI to lead the host Bulldogs to this South-West Conference win at Stratford.

Amity 3, Law 1: C.J. Semones had a two-run double for the host Spartans in this SCC interdivision victory at Woodbridge.

West Haven 3, Career 0: Jocey Morrell doubled and scored for the visiting Westies in this SCC interdivision win at New Haven.

Sacred Heart Academy 3, Branford 2: Gina Valentine allowewd just five hits and struck out 12 in the host Pacers’ SCC interdivision win at Hamden.

Guilford 5, Sheehan 4 (9): Mallory Streat went 4-for-5 for the visiting Indians in this SCC interdivision win at Wallingford.

Old Lyme 2, Hale-Ray 1 (8): Kaitlyn Mueller had two doubles, including a game-winning RBI double in the eighth inning to lead Old Lyme to its home Shoreline win.

Foran 3, Lyman Hall 0: Carli Matrisian had two doubles and an RBI for the visiting Lions in this SCC interdivision victory at Wallingford.

Seymour 3, Holy Cross 2: Winning pitcher Stephanie Burt struck out the final three batters she faced in the seventh inning after the host Crusaders loaded the bases with no outs as the Wildcats prevailed in NVL action at Waterbury.
