Cheshire hosts Royal Blue Game: Colon Cancer Awareness

The Cheshire softball team has joined the American Cancer Society and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s “StrikeOut” Cancer initiative this season.

On April 6 (Saturday) Cheshire will host Mercy at 11 a.m. for theRoyal Blue Game. Team members will wear royal blue jerseys and blue ribbons to raise awareness for colon cancer, and help highlight the measures that can be taken to prevent the disease and catch it in earlier, more curable stages.

The Cheshire softball family will be handing out blue ribbon stickers to all who attend the game. In addition, they be selling baked good items throughout the game, giving all proceeds to the American Cancer Society. Donations are also very much appreciated.

Cheshire has several members of their extended softball family that are battling the disease. Cheshire will ask members of the families to throw out the first pitch.
