Foran edges Guilford, Amity survives
No. 2 Foran 5, Guilford 4: Brooke Phelan scored the winning run on Dani Kemp’s walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the host Lions to this SCC Hammonasset Division win at Milford.
Phelan, who had two hits and an RBI, walked and then stole second before Kemp drove her home for Foran (6-0, 1-0).
Becky Mahoney had two hits and two RBIs for the Indians (4-2, 0-1).
No. 10 Amity 7, Shelton 6: Corina Zdrowski scored from first base on Julie Luce’s walk-off double to lift the host Spartans to this SCC Housatonic Division win at Woodbridge.
Jacquie Ferraiolo scored the tying run on Luce’s hit. Jenna DiLorenzo hit a two-run double for Amity (5-1).
