Tuesday's CIAC Tournament Roundup

CLASS LL

No. 3 Hand 14, No. 30 Newington 3: Katie Omdahl had two singles, a triple and four RBIs for the Tigers in this first-round win in Madison.

Allie Buller had three hits and two RBIs for Hand (18-4).

No. 11 Cheshire 15, No. 22 Simsbury 2: Casey Harding had two doubles, a home run and four RBIs for the host Rams in this first-round win.
Nicole D’Amato and Kierstyn Bourdeau also had home runs and Sara Como had two doubles for Cheshire (16-6).

No. 13 Naugatuck 4, No. 20 Hall 1: Kara Klimaszewski had a single, triple, two runs and an RBI for the host Greyhounds in this first-round win.

Gillian Fortier had a double, run and RBI for Naugatuck (15-7).

CLASS L

No. 12 North Haven 9, No. 21 Fermi 1: Brianne Melillo and Nicole Dunlop each had two hits and two RBIs for the host Indians in this first-round win.

Mia Martinez added two hits for North Haven (14-8).
Class M

No. 6 East Haven 9, No. 27 Plainville 1: Amanda Jessey had a single, double, three runs and three RBIs for the host Easties in this first-round win.

Talia Loda allowed just three hits and struck out nine for East Haven (19-4), ranked 10th in the Register Top 10 Poll.

No. 13 Haddam-Killingworth 6, No. 20 North Branford 4: Casey Jackson had two doubles and an RBI, Kolby Burger had a double, triple and two RBIs and the Cougars topped the Thunderbirds at home.

Haddam-Killingworth advances to play No. 4 Stonington in the second round.

Class S

No. 19 Westbrook 4, No. 3 East Granby 3: Emily Ossa had the game tying and go-ahead RBIs with a double in the sixth inning to lift the White Knights over Crusaders on the road.

Kaitlin MacMillan had 10 strikeouts for Westbrook (11-11).

No. 4 Morgan 16, No. 29 Windham Tech 0 (5): Emily Popp tossed a no-hitter and helped herself with a double for Morgan (18-5) in a first-round win at Clinton.

No. 16 Hale-Ray 18, No. 17 Shepaug Valley 2: Jordan Ziobron had a single, triple, home run, two runs and an RBI for the Noises in this first-round win at Moodus.
Missy Martin went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs for Hale-Ray (13-8).

No. 7 Old Saybrook 27, No. 26 O’Brien Tech 0 (5): Dana Pendleton and Kelsey Root each hit home runs for the host Rams in this first-round win. Old Saybrook is 17-6.

Raven Bristol recorded her 500th career strikeout for the Condors (9-12).
