North Branford wins Shoreline Conference
North Branford scored all eight of its runs in the first inning to post an 8-0 victory over Hale-Ray to claim the school's first Shoreline Conference tournament championship.
Junior Tara Ricci had two hits, two RBIs and a run and Bailey McGinnis had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for the fourth-seeded Thunderbirds (17-5).
Sophomore pitcher Meagan Halligan allowed just five hits and struck out nine for North Branford.
No. 2 Hale-Ray fell to 14-8.
