CHESHIRE — Smart baserunning and playing small ball have been recent trademarks of the Cheshire softball program.

That combination again proved successful for the Rams on Monday against Guilford.

With no outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and runners on first and second, Kathryn Vitale laid down a bunt, beat the throw to first and freshman Casey Harding scored from second to give the Rams a walk-off, 5-4 Southern Connecticut Conference interdivision victory.
