Law slips past No. 2 Foran

Amanda Leone scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning as the host Law softball team defeated Foran 2-1 in a Southern Connecticut Conference Hammonasset game in Milford.

Melissa Nelson had a RBI for the Eagles (6-1, 2-0).

Bryzy Gondki had two hits for Foran (6-1, 1-1), which is ranked second in the Register Top 10 Poll.

Guilford 6, Sacred Heart Academy 3: Gabie Lanouette had two hits, two runs and two stolen bases for the host Indians in this SCC interdivision win.

Becky Mahoney and Katie Sperry each had two hits and Leah Torre struck out 11 for Guilford (5-2). Amanda Beecher hit a home run for the Pacers (2-6).

Torrington 3, Naugatuck 2: Winning pitcher Sydney Matzko allowed two hits, struck out 12 and drove in two runs for the host Red Raiders in this NVL win.

Brittany Young also drove in a run for Torrington (6-1).

Gillian Fortier had a triple, home run, RBI and two runs for the Greyhounds (5-2).
