Shelton rallies past Amity
SHELTON — There wasn’t any Amity rally this time.
Instead, it was the Shelton softball team that erased a one-run deficit and hung on to defeat the Spartans 3-1 Wednesday in this Southern Connecticut Conference Housatonic Division contest.

On May 16, Amity, ranked 10th in the Register Poll, trailed by three runs entering the seventh inning but scored four times in a 7-6 victory over the Gaels.

No. 3 Foran 4, Guilford 0: Pitcher Jess Harkness struck out seven and scattered four hits to lead the Lions to their SCC Hammonasset win in Guilford.
Ashley Mendillo had two hits and three RBIs for the Lions.
Law 4, Hand 3 (9): Shea Lagonigro hit a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning that scored Amanda Leone with the winning run as the host Eagles walked off with this SCC Hammonasset Division win at Milford.
Leone finished with two hits and an RBI. Melissa Nelson had two doubles and scored twice for Law (12-1, 5-0). Alyssa Ahern had a hit and scored for the Tigers (4-9).
