Watt leads Amity past West Haven

WEST HAVEN — Amity’s Heather Watt has been struggling at the plate lately. While she hit the ball hard in her first two at bats, Watt had nothing to show for it.

The sophomore picked the right time to come up with a big hit. Watt cleared the bases with a two-out double down the line in left, leading the Amity softball team to a 3-0 victory over West Haven at Biondi Field Friday night.

“I just tried to relax and do my best,” Watt said. “I have been struggling lately. I just wanted to have a good at bat and drive the ball.

“This is really big for us. We have been in a really good winning streak. We want this to carry into the SCC tournament. Hopefully, we carry it there.”
