Amity, Cheshire, Shelton advance in Class LL
No. 6 Amity 8, No. 27 Newtown 1:
Emily Fox had two hits and two runs, and Dana Blydenburg tossed a
five-hitter with five strikeouts for Amity in a first-round win at Woodbridge.
Jacqui Ferraiolo added three hits and scored twice for the Spartans (19-5).
Newtown finishes at 10-12.
No. 20 Cheshire 3, No. 13 Pomperaug 1: Bryanna McIntosh went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the Rams win at Southbury.
Nicole D’Amato allowed just three hits in the win for Cheshire (13-8). Sam Collins had an RBI double for Pomperaug.
No. 14 Shelton 13, No. 19 East Hartford 1: Winning pitcher Emily Komornik had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs for the host Gaels in this first-round win.
Kaysee Talcik had a single, home run and four RBIs and Marissa D’Angelo had a single, home run and three RBIs for Shelton (14-8).
