West Haven ends losing streak
In his 31 seasons as softball coach at West Haven, Frank Biondi never had a team
that didn’t win a game.
That streak continues. Barely.
The Westies lost their first 17 games this season before pulling out a 1-0 victory over Hand on Thursday.
“It felt good,” Biondi said. “We knew we were going to be very young. We lost just about everyone. We’re starting three or four that never played before. It took awhile. We could never get the hitting and fielding to come together at the same time.”
