Mercy's Jason Thody steps down

The Middletown Press has reported that Mercy softball coach Jason Thody has stepped down after 10 seasons.

MIDDLETOWN — Mercy softball coach Jason Thody has resigned, the high school announced Wednesday.

Thody coached Mercy for 10 years and won a Class LL state championship in 2006.

Due to “personal and professional factors,” Thody said he no longer had adequate time to devote to softball.

“Watching the girls grow and succeed in softball and life has been a true pleasure that will stay with me forever,” Thody said in a letter to the Mercy administration. “I have made great friends along the way that I will always cherish.”
