Mary Casey and Amanda Kenny added two hits each for the Indians.

Shelton 8, Lyman Hall 1: Rachel Cataudella had two hits, including a double, along with three RBIs to lead the Gaels to an SCC Housatonic Division win in Shelton.

Kendall Hansen added a solo homer for the Gaels (10-6, 4-3). The Trojans fall to 3-13, 0-8.

CHESHIRE — Aside from one pitch, Sheehan junior Kayla Humphrey essentially shut down the potent Cheshire offense.

A little help from the defense didn’t hurt. Humphrey allowed six hits and the Titans turned two double plays and also threw out a runner at third base in a 3-1 Southern Connecticut Conference Housatonic Division victory Friday.

“Our defense was flawless today,” Sheehan coach Jocelyn Chang said. “We had games where we’ve played really, really well, but not as good as today. I hope this is how it is the rest of the season. They looked great today.”
